9.What does courage have to do with the quality of your character?
Not alot.
1. Is peer pressure a very strong influence in this school? Does it take courage to resist peer pressure?
I do think it is. I've had so many friends, and myself, fall victim to it at least once. And it is very difficult to resist it at times.
2. What does it mean to have principles? What are some of your principles? How much are you willing to risk for your principles? Would you risk being criticized or losing popularity?
It means to set moral boundaries for yourself. Some of my principles include: A. Never fail a class; B. Never do drugs; C. Follow what I believe in. Yes, I would risk a lot to follow my principles. I set these for my personal wellbeing and confidence.
3. What do you think stops people from taking a stand against something they know is wrong?
Interest. For example, someone may do drugs just because they want to see what it's like. The fact that others are watching (peer pressure). They want to look "cool" in front of their friends.
4. Have you ever stood up for someone who was being picked on or treated unfairly? Would you do it again? What did you learn from that experience?
Yes, I have. It was in sixth grade and I remember it very clearly. S*** was clearly harrassing M****** in front of the entire class. M****** was crying... Mrs. S******** wasn't doing anything about it, and she knew very well what was going on. I screamed at S*** to stop. I got sentences. I didn't do them, but Mrs. S******** didn't ask for them the next day. I would most definately do it again because I gained respect from a lot of my classmates and S*** stopped messing with M******.
5. Are there kids in your school who pick on others? How do you feel about it? Why do people allow that to happen? What could you do about it?
I've seen this happen plenty of times. It always makes me very mad, and I've confronted people about it before. People watch it happen for entertainment... or because they're scared.
6. Have the courage to be yourself. What do you think this means? How can it require courage to be yourself?
To not be someone you're not in front of other people to "fit in." It may be a trashy trend or a bad attitude that may be "in style," and it can take courage to resist these things.
7. Evil will continue to triumph as long as good people do nothing. What does this mean? Do you agree?
If no one stands up for what they believe in, their voice won't be heard, and it takes other people to hear and understand what the person means and thinks for the evil to stop.
8. Is courage something you have to be born with, or can you develop it?
You have to develop it; a lot of kids who are very sheltered by their parents generally have almost no courage, and those who have a bit more freedom have a lot. It depends on what you've been exposed to in your lifetime.
9. What does courage have to do with the quality of your character?
It shows people if you're the type to take chances and be a bit more free-willed; most of the time, people with a considerable amount of courage are more fun to be with because they're not scared of a lot of stuff.
1.Is peer pressure a very strong influence in this school?Does it take courage to resis peer pressure? Peer pressure is everywhere. It's in the school also. I don't let people influence me at all, I would rather do my own thing.
2.What does it mean to have principles? What are some of your principles? How much are you willing to risk for your principles? Would you risk being criticized or losing popularity? Principles are like beliefs, and its what you live by. I believe I would always have a group of people on the same page as me, knowing what is right and what isn't during peer pressure. I would definitely risk anything to be able to do the right thing.
